Instagram is currently testing a feature that enables users to privately signal disapproval of specific comments by tapping a downward-facing arrow next to the comment. This "dislike" button allows users to express their feelings without publicly displaying a dislike count or notifying the comment's author. The primary aim is to enhance the quality of interactions on the platform by potentially moving disliked comments lower in the feed, thereby promoting a more positive environment.

This initiative has sparked mixed reactions among users. Some express concerns that it could lead to increased negativity and cyberbullying, while others view it as a tool to manage and mitigate toxic or harsh comments.

As of now, this feature is being tested with a small group of users, and Instagram has not announced a timeline for a broader rollout. The company is closely monitoring user feedback to assess the impact of this feature on the community.

Apple is enhancing its Vision Pro headset by integrating Apple Intelligence, aiming to deliver advanced AI-driven features without necessitating new hardware. This integration is set to be part of a significant software update, visionOS 2.4, scheduled for public release in April 2025.

The integration of Apple Intelligence into the Vision Pro without requiring hardware upgrades is a strategic move to provide users with advanced AI capabilities, ensuring the device remains competitive and relevant in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Perplexity AI has introduced its Deep Research feature, designed to generate comprehensive research reports on any topic. By performing extensive searches and analyzing numerous sources, Deep Research aims to deliver detailed responses in a matter of minutes, significantly reducing the time compared to traditional research methods.

This feature is available to all users, with a limited number of free queries per day. For more extensive use, Perplexity offers a Pro plan at $200 per year, providing up to 500 queries per month.

In a recent review, Perplexity's Deep Research demonstrated efficiency by providing answers within minutes, covering a broad range of sources. However, the depth and quality of the responses may vary depending on the complexity of the query.

This development positions Perplexity as a competitor to established AI research tools, offering a free alternative to users seeking in-depth information without the need for a subscription.

Microsoft's recent update to the Windows 11 24H2 processor support list has led to the removal of several Intel processors from the official support list for new OEM systems. Notably, Intel's 8th, 9th, and 10th generation processors are no longer included.

This change aligns with Intel's decision in December 2024 to transition the integrated graphics of its 7th to 10th generation processors to a legacy support model. Consequently, these processors are now excluded from the official support list for Windows 11 24H2 on new OEM systems.

It's important to note that this exclusion pertains specifically to new OEM systems. Existing systems with these processors can still run Windows 11 24H2, but they may not receive the same level of support or updates as newer processors. Microsoft has stated that subsequently released and future generations of processors meeting the same principles will be considered supported, even if not explicitly listed.

For users with 8th, 9th, or 10th generation Intel processors, this development may influence decisions regarding hardware upgrades or system compatibility with future Windows updates.

Apple is reportedly planning to release its next-generation M5 chip in the fall of 2025, initially integrating it into new MacBook Pro models. This marks a shift from the previous M4 chip, which debuted in the iPad Pro before transitioning to Macs. The M5-powered iPad Pro is anticipated to launch in the first half of 2026.

The M5 chip is expected to utilize TSMC's advanced 3-nanometer process technology, offering enhanced performance and energy efficiency. High-end versions of the M5 may incorporate TSMC's System on Integrated Chip (SoIC) technology, which involves vertically stacking chips to improve thermal management and reduce electrical leakage.
