The iPhone 16e has appeared on Geekbench, revealing some details about its performance. While the device features the A18 chip, which is a significant upgrade over previous models, its GPU performance is slightly lower than the iPhone 16. Geekbench scores show that the iPhone 16e performs well in CPU tasks, showcasing a substantial boost in processing power, but the GPU seems to fall short when compared to the standard iPhone 16.

This performance difference could be attributed to the fact that the iPhone 16e is aimed at the more affordable segment, with cost-saving measures potentially affecting its GPU. While the iPhone 16e offers an excellent balance of features like Face ID, a 48MP camera, and the A18 chip, its GPU might not deliver the same high-end performance seen in the more expensive iPhone 16 models.

Apple has introduced a redesigned Mail app in macOS 15.4 and iPadOS 18.4, enhancing email organization and user experience. The update introduces built-in categorization, automatically sorting emails into four distinct sections:

iOS 18.4 introduces Priority Notifications, an Apple Intelligence feature designed to enhance notification management by highlighting important alerts. This feature uses on-device processing to analyze and prioritize notifications, ensuring critical information is readily accessible.

  • Automatic Prioritization: Apple Intelligence assesses the importance of incoming notifications and displays them in a dedicated section at the top of the Lock Screen. This ensures that essential alerts, such as messages from key contacts or critical app updates, are immediately visible.

  • User Control: While Priority Notifications is enabled by default, users can manage this feature by navigating to Settings > Notifications > Prioritize Notifications. Here, they can toggle the feature on or off based on their preferences.

  • Privacy-Focused: The feature operates using on-device processing, ensuring that notification data remains private and is not shared with external servers.

By implementing Priority Notifications, iOS 18.4 aims to reduce notification clutter, allowing users to focus on what matters most. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for those who receive a high volume of notifications daily.

Apple is set to integrate its Apple Intelligence suite into the Vision Pro headset with the release of visionOS 2.4 in April 2025. This integration will introduce several AI-driven features designed to enhance user experience:

  • Writing Tools: Users can generate, proofread, rewrite, and summarize text messages using OpenAI’s ChatGPT, facilitating efficient communication.

  • Image Playground: This feature allows users to create unique images from themes, costumes, accessories, and places using verbal prompts, expanding creative possibilities.

  • Genmoji: Users can create custom emoji characters, adding a personalized touch to their interactions.

Additionally, the update will introduce Spatial Gallery, a new app for Vision Pro that features a curated collection of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas from artists, filmmakers, and photographers, enriching the immersive experience.

These enhancements aim to leverage AI to improve productivity, creativity, and user engagement on the Vision Pro platform. Initially, these features will support U.S. English, with plans to expand to additional languages and regions throughout the year.
